NVRC Partners with Compass Pro Bono to Build a Sustainable Future
All of our happenings provide an opportunity for our community to come together and share with each other resources that we've found helpful. When a community gathers, an amazing thing happens: its members build each other up and help the whole network to get stronger. Join us, be strengthened, and strengthen others!

NVRC is excited to announce our partnership with Compass Pro Bono, a nonprofit consulting organization that provides pro bono strategic support to mission-driven organizations. Through this collaboration, Compass Pro Bono will help NVRC develop a three-year fundraising strategy to diversify funding sources and reduce reliance on Fairfax County funding.
Leading this effort is Hemang Shah, Partner at North & Main, who brings over 25 years of experience in nonprofit sustainability, corporate strategy, and financial planning. He and a dedicated team of Compass Pro Bono consultants will work closely with NVRC to:
- - Evaluate our membership model and explore ways to enhance engagement.
- - Identify new funding opportunities, including individual giving and corporate sponsorships.
- - Develop a three-year fundraising plan with clear financial targets.
- - Strengthen donor engagement through improved stewardship strategies.
- - Explore additional revenue streams, such as legacy giving and sustainable funding initiatives.
As part of this project, we will be conducting stakeholder interviews and surveys to gather insights from our community. Your input is invaluable in shaping NVRC’s future.
We are incredibly fortunate to have been selected for this competitive engagement, valued at approximately $150,000 in pro bono services. This is a transformational opportunity for NVRC, and we look forward to working with Hemang and his team to secure a strong financial future for our organization and those we serve.
