Nyle DiMarco received an apology from his speech teacher following his impressive debut on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars” season premiere.
DiMarco, who is best known for winning “America’s Next Top Model” last year, is the second deaf contestant to compete in the ABC ballroom competition. He follows in the footsteps of former contestant Marlee Matlin, and is partnered with season 14 winner Peta Murgatroyd. Though DiMarco is only able to communicate with the pro through sign language and non-verbal signals, he excelled on the first episode of season 22.
