Job Opening – HLAA Northeast Consultant, Walk4Hearing

The Hearing Loss Association of America, (HLAA) a nonprofit chapter-based organization and the producer of the Walk4Hearing, the single biggest hearing loss-awareness event in the country, is seeking a top-notch, high energy professional to strategically grow walks in the Northeast of the US.

Building on the success of the Northeast walks the consultant will work collaboratively with the walk site volunteers and the national office staff to identify and communicate best practices.

The expectation is that this person on a consulting basis will:

•Grow revenues

•Identify cost savings

•Assist in recruiting local sponsors

•Increase the number of teams and walkers

•Identify and help to recruit Alliance teams

•Help plan, coordinate and implement kickoff events and walk day activities

•Increase awareness of, teach and encourage use of the on-line donation database

Required Experience and Skills Include:

•College graduate with relevant experience

•Minimum two years walk event planning experience

•Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite and Convio TeamRaiser

•Ability to work independently and with a team

•Able to use social networking for marketing and communication

•Available to travel and work evenings and weekends

•Sensitivity to and experience in working with volunteers

•Superb organization, written and spoken communication skills

•Strong skills in planning, budgeting and volunteer development

•Located in the Northeast of the US
